When I started this painting I wanted to paint something the octopus was reaching towards. Maybe a boar or a submarine. However after finishing the octopus I stepped back and saw that it was perfect as it was. I saw an octopus at its lowest point, reaching up and climbing out of that hole its been in. Not knowing how long its been there or even aware that it’s been in a hole. But today is a new day and it’s time to reach towards our highest potential…. just like Mr. Octopus here. This painting is measuring at 27” x 20.”
